Conferences and Education
EAS 2008 Munich - Get Going, Get Business, Get Smart
EAS 2008 continues to be the best venue in Europe for education, training and professional development in the attractions and leisure industry.
The seminar program involves operators from across Europe and the rest of the world sharing their expertise on how to make their amusement park, zoo or attraction increase revenue, provide better services, improve profit and attract more guests.
For 2008 we will be joined by speakers from the TUEV SUED, Europa Park, Compagnie des Alpes, Disneyland Paris, Efteling and Merlin Entertainment, along with a host of industry experts, consultants and opinion makers.
Key Notes
Each day we offer a thought provoking key note presentation on a different aspect of the amusement industry and the business world.
Authenticity: What Consumers Really Want
" ... in a world increasingly filled with deliberately and sensationally staged experiences and - an increasingly unreal world – consumers choose to buy or not to buy based on how real they perceive an offering to be. Business today, therefore, is all about being real. Original. Genuine. Sincere. Authentic.
- Pine and Gilmore (2007)
Join internationally acclaimed author, speaker, and management advisor, Mr. Joe Pine as he discusses his latest book Authenticity: What Consumers Really Want (Harvard Business School Press, 2007)
In the attractions industry where experiences, storytelling and memories are the building blocks of success, Mr. Pine contends that customers increasingly want an authentic "moment" and not a fake event. He will discuss how businesses must understand what it means to "render authenticity" in their consumer offerings and outreach, and that we must learn to manage the process of, and excel at, rendering authenticity and behaving authentically. He will provide a way of thinking about authenticity in business and share a set of tools and techniques for rendering authenticity in any company including 10 elements of authenticity.
Time magazine recently selected Authenticity on its list of "10 Ideas That Are Changing The World."
Authenticity follows the best-selling The Experience Economy: Work Is Theatre & Every Business a Stage (Harvard Business School Press, 1999), which demonstrates how goods and services are no longer enough; what companies must offer today are experiences – memorable events that engage each customer in an inherently personal way.
Limited seating available for this session.
